Ophthalmic training
After training posts in neurosurgery and Emergency medicine he undertook ophthalmic training at leading institutions in London, including:
During this period he was was comprehensively trained as an ophthalmologist.
Sub-specialist training
He has completed two further sub specialist surgical retinal fellowships at
Trainer
As an academic trainer, he has co-supervised undergraduate degrees in Australia and the UK.
As a surgical trainer, he co-runs a surgical retinal fellowship at Southend University Hospital. He trains junior surgeons as a member of the faculty of surgical trainers of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the British & Eire Vitreoretinal Surgeons wet lab training and the European School for Advances Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO). His contribution towards surgical training has been recognised by being made a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He is also Chair of Scholarships & Awards Subcommittee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of UK.
